Downtown Street Closures

On Sabbath, July 2, 2005, many downtown streets will be closed for the 4th of July parade. We strongly recommend public transportation to America’s Center on this day. The light rail system known as MetroLink is efficient and economical. The Convention Center stop is located near America’s Center. A map of the system and availability of park and ride lots can be found at MetroLink Web site. Park and Ride lots are free of charge. Overnight parking is not allowed.

FROM I-44

I -44 intersects with I-55/70 near Downtown. Exit merged Interstates at Downtown Exit Memorial Drive. Take Memorial Drive to Washington Avenue. Turn left on Washington Avenue and go to Washington Entrance of America’s Center. For the Plaza Entrance to the facility, turn left on Washington Avenue and go to 7th Street. Turn right on 7th Street and go to Convention Plaza. For the Broadway Central Entrance to the Trans World Dome, turn left on Washing Avenue and go to 9th Street (one-way). Turn right on 9th Street (one-way) and go to Cole Street. Turn right on Cole Street and go to Broadway (one-way). Turn right on Broadway (one-way south) and go to Broadway Central Entrance (located in center of the block in between Entries C and B).

FROM I-55

See the above directions after I-44 merge.

FROM I-270

I-270 does not extend into Downtown St. Louis. It does intersect with I-55, I-70, I-44, and Highway 40 at various points.

FROM ILLINOIS (I-55/70) VIA POPLAR ST. BRIDGE

Exit bridge via the Memorial Drive Exit (one-way north). Take Memorial Drive to Washington Avenue. Turn left on Washington Avenue and go to Washington Entrance of America’s Center. For the Plaza Entrance to the facility, turn left on Washington Avenue and go to 7th Street. Turn right on 7th Street and go to Convention Plaza. For the Broadway Central Entrance to the Trans World Dome, turn left on Washington Avenue and go to 9th Street (one-way). Turn right on 9th Street (one-way) and go to Cole Street. Turn right on Cole Street and go to Broadway (one-way). Turn right on Broadway (one-way south) and go to Broadway Central Entrance (located in center of the block in between Entries C and B).

 
FROM I-64 (HIGHWAY 40)

Take Highway 40 and go to the Last Missouri Exit (Broadway). At end of ramp, make a left on Cerre Street (one-way east). Take Cerre Street and go to 4th Street. Turn left on 4th Street and go to Washington Avenue. Turn left on Washington Avenue and go to Washington Entrance of America’s Center. For the Plaza Entrance to the facility, turn left on Washington Avenue and go to 7th Street. Turn right on 7th Street and go to Convention Plaza. For the Broadway Central Entrance to the Trans World Dome, turn left on Washington Avenue and go to 9th Street (one-way). Turn right on 9th Street (one-way) and go to Cole Street. FROM LAMBERT ST. LOUIS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (I-70)

The America’s Center is approximately 18 miles south of the airport. Take I-70 East to Broadway Exit. Take Broadway (one-way south) to Washington Avenue. Turn right on Washington Avenue and go to Washington Entrance of America’s Center. For the Plaza Entrance to the facility, take Broadway (one-way south) and go to Convention Plaza. Turn right on Convention Plaza and go to Plaza Entrance. For the Broadway Central Entrance to the Trans World Dome, take Broadway (one-way south) and go to Broadway Central Entrance (located in the center of the block in between Entries C and B).

FROM ILLINOIS (I-55/70) VIA

MARTIN LUTHER KING BRIDGE

At the end of the bridge, the road will continue to the right. At first stop light, turn left (look for Broadway/Cole Street left turn sign). Go under highway. At next stop light, turn left onto Broadway (one-way south). Take Broadway (one-say south) and go to Washington Avenue. Turn right on Washington Avenue and go to Washington Entrance of America’s Center. For the Plaza Entrance to the facility, take Broadway (one-way south) and go to Convention Plaza. Turn right on Convention Plaza and go to Plaza Entrance. For the Broadway Central Entrance to the Trans World Dome, take Broadway (one-way south) and go to Broadway Central Entrance (located in the center of the block in between Entries C and B).
